Movie Review - Juno

We went to see the movie Juno this weekend and it was SO. FUNNY. If you are up to seeing a movie with a spunky pregnant teenage girl, this is the flick for you. We laughed and laughed throughout the movie...which makes the moolah spent to see it well worth it. 5 Stars from our little corner of the world for this movie. (image from www.imdb.com )

I just love things that make people happy.
Things like flowers, chocolate cake, spring and a good laugh.
But, the best thing of all is when some announces that their family is growing.

Well, today is the day we get to make that announcement to you!

I am so excited to be able to announce to all of you that Drew and I have been working through the process of an adoption home study. We began the process in August and are in the home stretch before we reach the waiting pool for the agency with which we are working. This does not mean that we have been selected or that there is currently a child waiting. It does mean, however, that we will covet your prayers and support as we continue to move through the steps. We will hopefully be completing an open adoption and have already learned so much from others out there who have gone before us!

We are so incredibly excited and I am glad we can share this news with you!

Valentine's Day

Those of you that know me very well already know that Valentine's Day had not been my favorite day in the past. But, that is all in the past now. I know Valentine's Day is tomorrow and, I gotta tell ya, I am sort of excited this year. Not because I am expecting anything "special" or because I HAVE anything special ready for Drew, but because I am just choosing not to fight everyone about how pointless it really is. Instead, I am planning to just enjoy the day and tell everyone around me how much I care about them. I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day and that you feel the love of those around you.

And we JUST got rid of the last snow!

We just got rid of the lion's share of the last snow we had...IN DECEMBER...and lo and behold today we got walloped again. sigh. I mean, come on, Saturday was Groundhog day and a few weeks ago temperatures were in the 60's! YES! I am ready for spring. This snow is total craziness I tell ya! School is going to be released in 15 minutes and the snow removal guys are outside, as I write this, frantically trying to remove snow from the sidewalks for kids. Nice. Too bad they didn't do that this morning when I had to trudge through 2 foot snow drifts. Oh...and it's just gotten worse throughout the day. Snow has not stopped falling, literally, all day long.

The weather in Nebraska never ceases to amaze me.

I know, I know...wait a few days and I will be complaining about being in the throws of summer.
