Since the last time we talked...

It has been 12 days since I last wrote anything and ALOT can happen in 12 days, so...since the last time we talked:
  • School started (Aug 16 with students) and that is always an interesting time of year.
  • Drew had a birthday (Aug 18). We had steak and a nice dinner at The Cellar in Kearney and I bought him some smoker racks for the smoker.
  • Our tomatoes have finally started producing ripe tomatoes. (So far, we have picked 10 gallons of tomatoes and they are just getting started.)
  • I have been gearing up to start classes at UNK this week. I will be taking one online and one on campus this fall. That should be interesting.
That pretty much covers the major events. I will try to keep this updated a little better!

Ants

Okay, I am going to divulge a little secret to you....are you ready? We have ants. Not ALL over the house. Not big ants...not black ants. We have tiny red ones. The other day I went into my closet and felt some creepy crawlies on my feet and legs. I KNOW I don't have RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) and I wasn't laying still...so...I looked down. There were little red ants crawling all over my feet and ankles. Gross. So, we bought some ant bait, and sprayed the outside perimeter of our house. Then we waited for the ants to race to the yummy bait. They didn't. We. Still. Have. Ants. Ya'll, I am ready to bring out my A Game against the little crawlies. My problem? I have exhausted everything I know to do, so....can I borrow your A Game? Have you ever had ants? How did you get rid of them?

Movie Review - Bourne Ultimatum

Are you a fan of the Bourne movies? I have to admit that I wasn't...at first. A friend tried to get me to watch them and I just plain wasn't interested. I finally gave in and watched the first one (The Bourne Identity) a few years back and was BORED (No, I don't know how I could be, but I was.) due to the sheer lack of attention given to the movie. So, after Drew and I met (and I wanted to be close to him as often as possible) he suggested we watch The Bourne Identity because the sequel was coming out (The Bourne Supremacy). I, like any woman in this situation, enthusiastically agreed (to be close to him, of course) and loved the movie because I actually paid attention to it. We went to see the sequel when it came out and then THIS weekend we saw the threequel - The Bourne Ultimatum. It was so good! I think the best one is the first one, by far, but this one was definitely worth the money and the 40 minute drive to see. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of action/adventure movies. However, you should definitely see the first two if you haven't before you see this one!

Rain Rain...is here AGAIN today.

We have had SO much rain this summer. I can't complain because the temperature hasn't been just terrible and the crops look so good, and with very little irrigation at that. Well...today when I got home from working at the school the clouds seem to build up and then...oh then....the rain. It just starting POURING during the 1 mile drive home from school. yikes. Then, when I got here I tried to pep talk myself into how quickly the run would be from the garage to the back door if I adjusted everything just right so that it didn't get very wet. Okay, computer bag...check, purse...check, water bottle...check, lunchbox...check. Ready. So, I opened the garage door and counted 3-2-1..run. I got to the back door more quickly than I even imagined in my mind. I was so proud...so pleased. I quickly turned the door knob....but my hands slipped off of the wet knob since it was LOCKED! Not a problem, except...one problem...my keys! I began looking for them in my pockets to avail. Maybe in my purse? Nope. My....CAR? Yup, I locked myself out of the car and out of the house and was soaked in the rain trying to solve the problem. I went to our secret location and got the spare key in order to get in the house, to go back out and get my keys. Once I stepped into the house...the rian stopped. Nice.
